Introduction

We are seeking a qualified and motivated Accountant to join our client’s team in Portugal. The ideal candidate will be SAIPA qualified with 1–2 years’ post-articles experience and a strong foundation in accounting and financial processes.

Duties & Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day accounting and financial activities.

Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and accounting schedules.

Assist with monthly and annual financial reporting.

Perform account and balance sheet reconciliations.

Prepare and process accounting entries and journals.

Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.

Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis where required.

Ensure financial information is accurate, complete and up to date.

Assist with month-end and year-end accounting processes.

Ensure compliance with relevant accounting policies and procedures.

Support internal and external audit processes when required.

Provide financial information and reports to management.

Work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders.

Desired Experience & Qualification

SAIPA qualified.

1–2 years’ post-articles experience.

Relevant accounting and financial reporting experience.

Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.

Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Willingness/ able to relocate to Portugal.
