Seeking a detail-oriented, organised and hands-on Accountant. This position encompasses the day to day accounting function, ensuring accurate financial records, effective financial controls, timely reconciliations and reliable reporting.
This role covers the full accounting cycle for one of the companies in our Foreign owned group; including accounts receivable and payable, sales invoicing and cost of sales processing, VAT submissions, inventory reconciliations, intercompany transactions, month-end processes and financial reporting.
This function requires working in a fast-paced operational environment, managing competing deadlines and working closely with internal departments, suppliers, customers and management.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- BCom degree in accounting with Accounts 3. Accounting Honours degree would be advantageous.
- Proven experience in a financial accounting role. Experience in a manufacturing, engineering or inventory-intensive environment would be advantageous.
- Practical experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, VAT and month-end processes.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with Sage Pastel.
- Preferable to have experience with inventory accounting, job costing, WIP and cost of sales.
- Knowledge of South African VAT and SARS compliance requirements.
- Experience with intercompany accounting and financial reporting would be advantageous.
