An innovative and fast-growing organisation is looking for a commercially minded Financial Accountant to become a key member of its finance team. This is much more than a traditional accounting role. It's an opportunity to combine strong technical accounting skills with financial analysis, business partnering, and strategic decision-making while building towards a future finance leadership position. We're looking for an ambitious finance professional who enjoys understanding how a business operates, not just how the numbers work. The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable preparing management accounts, building financial models, analysing profitability, and supporting commercial decisions. This role offers exceptional exposure to operational finance, management accounting, project analysis, budgeting, and business growth initiatives within a rapidly expanding environment. Duties & Responsibilities

Job Description

The successful candidate will take ownership of the day-to-day accounting function while providing meaningful financial insights to support the CFO and operational teams. You will be responsible for financial reporting, reconciliations, compliance, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and performance analysis. Working across multiple areas of the business, you will assist with project costing, profitability analysis, financial modelling, pricing strategies, and strategic planning while helping management make informed commercial decisions.

Skills & Experience

• Manage the day-to-day financial accounting function

• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports

• Perform bank, debtor, creditor, and balance sheet reconciliations

• Ensure compliance with VAT, PAYE, and statutory requirements

• Assist with annual financial statements and audit processes

• Prepare budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections

• Analyse financial performance and identify trends, risks, and opportunities

• Perform product, project, and job costing analyses

• Develop financial models and management reporting tools

• Monitor revenue, margins, profitability, and operational performance

• Support pricing decisions and commercial initiatives

• Partner with operational teams to improve performance and efficiency

• Identify opportunities to strengthen controls, reporting, and processes

• Assist management with strategic planning and financial decision-making

• Minimum 3 years' relevant accounting experience

• Strong financial and management accounting experience

• Experience preparing management accounts, financial reports and international payments

• Strong budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management skills

• Advanced Excel skills

• Experience with ERP systems such as Sage, SAP, Dynamics, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar

Qualification

• BCom Accounting qualification

• Professional qualification such as CIMA (can be in-progress) or completed SAIPA

Package & Remuneration

R 420 000 - R 540 000 - Annually
