Job Title: Accountant
Reporting To : Finance Manager
Crusaders Corporate is an established and growing Import and Wholesale business supplying products nationally. We are seeking an experienced, commercially astute Accountant to join our finance team and take ownership of key financial functions supporting the business's continued growth.
The Accountant will manage a broad range of finance responsibilities, from reconciliations and reporting to tax compliance and HR finance partnering. This is a hands-on role suited to a detail-oriented professional who can work independently while contributing to the wider finance function.
Key Responsibilities Financial Reconciliations & Reporting ● Perform balance sheet reconciliations ● Prepare monthly management reports ● Maintain and update the fixed asset register Debtors Management ● Take full ownership of the debtors function, including receipts processing, account reconciliations, and follow-ups on outstanding balances Audit ● Assist with the preparation and execution of the annual audit Tax and Compliance ● Prepare and submit tax returns, including VAT, Income Tax, and Ad Valorem, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations ● Support tax planning initiatives HR Finance Partnering ● Act as the finance business partner to HR, including leave management and incentive/commission calculations
Requirements: ● Relevant accounting qualification (e.g., BCom Accounting, or equivalent; SAIPA/SAICA articles advantageous) ● 8 years experience in a similar accounting role, ideally within an import/wholesale or distribution environment ● Strong working knowledge of VAT, Income Tax, and Ad Valorem tax requirements ● Experience with balance sheet reconciliations and debtors management ● Proficiency in accounting software (Netsuite) ● Advanced Excel skills ● Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical ability ● Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and communicate effectively across departments
