We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accounting Professional to join a growing and professional finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background, excellent attention to detail, and practical experience across financial accounting, reporting, and payroll.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage full-function accounting processes and maintain accurate financial records.
- Perform general ledger reconciliations and ensure all accounts are accurately maintained.
- Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
- Process and review accounting transactions, journals, and adjustments.
- Perform bank, creditor, debtor, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assist with year-end financial statement preparation and audit requirements.
- Manage and process payroll functions accurately and timeously.
- Assist with VAT, PAYE, UIF and other statutory submissions where required.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, policies, and legislation.
- Utilise accounting and financial systems effectively, including Pastel, Sage Online and CaseWare Working Papers.
- Identify discrepancies and implement solutions to maintain financial accuracy.
- Provide support to management with financial information and reporting requirements.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- SAIPA Professional Accountant (SA) or AGA qualification.
- Relevant Accounting / Finance qualification.
- Proven experience in an accounting environment.
- Strong understanding of financial accounting and reporting.
- Practical payroll experience.
- Proficiency in:
- Pastel
- Sage Online
- CaseWare Working Papers
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
- Good understanding of accounting principles and financial controls.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team.
- Fluent in English and Afrikaans.
