Accountant

An established property management business is seeking an experienced Accountant to join its dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the full accounting function for a portfolio of approximately 30 clients, ensuring accurate financial reporting, reconciliations, budgeting and compliance. The role requires a structured, customer-focused individual with clear communication skills, a positive attitude and the ability to communicate in Afrikaans.

Requirements include (but are not limited to)

• At least 5 years’ experience as an Accountant

• Relevant tertiary qualification; experience in the property industry will be advantageous.

• Ability to communicate in Afrikaans

• Own reliable transportation

• Ability to manage the full accounting function for a portfolio of approximately 30 clients, including importing bank statements, receipting debtors and processing creditor payments

• Ability to perform bank and municipal reconciliations, post special and correction journals, and reconcile suspense and control accounts

• Ability to manage debtor billing, assist with debtor reconciliations, process debit order runs and maintain tenant and owner information

• Compile monthly management packs, manage cash flow, calculate and recover monthly utilities, and manage invoice and statement runs

• Prepare annual budgets, present financials at Annual General Meetings, assist with annual audits, and manage annual accruals, levy clearance certificates and closing journals

• Proficiency in submitting VAT and PAYE returns and perform other accounting duties as required
