Introduction

A reputable organisation is seeking an experienced and reliable Side Tipper Truck Driver to join its transport and logistics operation in Bethal, Mpumalanga . The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation, loading and offloading of bulk materials while maintaining the vehicle in a roadworthy and operational condition.

The role requires a minimum of 5 years’ relevant side tipper/heavy-duty truck driving experience , with a strong focus on safety, compliance and reliable delivery. Similar side-tipper roles in Mpumalanga commonly require Code 14/EC licensing, PDP, vehicle inspections, load handling and accurate delivery records.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and drive side tipper trucks safely and efficiently.

• Transport bulk materials such as coal, aggregate, soil and other materials as required.

• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections .

• Check tyres, brakes, lights, hydraulics, oil, water and other critical components.

• Safely load, transport and offload materials.

• Operate the side-tipper mechanism correctly and safely.

• Ensure loads are properly secured and within legal weight limits.

• Follow allocated routes and delivery schedules.

• Complete trip sheets, delivery notes, logbooks and other required documentation.

• Record kilometres, fuel usage, deliveries and operating hours accurately.

• Report mechanical faults, breakdowns, accidents or incidents immediately.

• Maintain the truck and trailer in a clean and presentable condition.

• Ensure the vehicle remains roadworthy and compliant with applicable legislation.

• Follow all company health, safety and environmental procedures .

• Comply with the Road Traffic Act and site-specific safety requirements.

• Communicate effectively with Fleet Controllers, Supervisors, customers and site personnel.

• Assist with inspections and basic operational checks where required.

• Work overtime, weekends and public holidays when operationally required.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum 5 years' experience as a Side Tipper Truck Driver.

• Valid Code 14 / EC driver's licence .

• Valid PrDP/PDP .

• Proven experience operating heavy-duty trucks and side-tipper trailers.

• Experience with bulk material transportation will be advantageous.

• Good knowledge of road safety and transport regulations.

• Clean driving record.

• Ability to reverse and manoeuvre a side tipper safely.

• Good knowledge of vehicle pre-trip inspections and basic fault reporting.

• Ability to complete driver documentation accurately.

• Physically fit and medically suitable for the role.

• Willingness to work long hours, overtime, weekends and public holidays when required.
