• As a Linux Client Engineer, you are responsible for the design, development, security, and operation of a • standardized Linux client platform for both office and production environments. You ensure that Linux systems are secure, stable, compliant, and aligned with business and operational requirements while supporting the organization's digital workplace and manufacturing operations. • Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, and maintain Linux client platforms for office and production environments. • Define, implement, and continuously improve client functionality based on business and operational requirements. • Develop and maintain Linux base images, software packages, and configuration standards. • Ensure compliance with security, hardening, and regulatory requirements in accordance with corporate standards. • Perform vulnerability assessments, implement remediation measures, and maintain a strong security posture. • Install, configure, administer, and support Linux systems across physical, virtual, and cloud-based infrastructures (i.e. AWS). • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot complex issues, and ensure high availability and operational stability. • Automate deployment, configuration, and operational processes to improve efficiency and reliability. • Manage system updates, patches, and lifecycle activities for Linux platforms. • Support Incident, Problem, and Change Management (PIC processes) processes for dedicated IT services. • Maintain accurate documentation, knowledge base articles, CMDB records, and operational procedures. • Ensure adherence to operational standards, security policies, and compliance requirements. • Track and manage Jira user stories and operational tasks to ensure timely delivery in an agile working model. • Collaborate closely with infrastructure, cloud, security, and application teams. • Facilitate and moderate operational meetings and drive continuous service improvements. • Participate in on-call support and weekend maintenance activities when required. QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
- Degree in Information Systems or equivalent experience
- Strong experience with coding and scripting (Bash, PowerShell etc)
- Strong experience with Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu, SLES)
- Strong experience with Cloud Technologies (AWS, Azure)
- Strong knowledge with version control systems (GitHub)
- Experience with ServiceNow (advantageous)
- Experience with Dynatrace (advantageous)
- Experience with Red Hat Satellite (advantageous)
- Any Linux certification such as RHCSA (advantageous)
- Ansible certification - RHCE (ex294/ex407) (advantageous)
- Minimum of 5 years of IT operations experience
- Minimum of 5 years of configuration management and automation experience
